Coolors is my favorite tool for playing with color palettes! I save all my color palettes in my account for coming back to later and quickly toggling between tools across my business projects.

The tool I use most often is the color palette generator. You can endlessly generate color combinations, lock the colors you like to get ideas for complementary colors, and view different shades within each color. I use this for quickly finding a lighter or darker version of my preferred colors without estimating. Coolors also has an option to generate a palette pulling colors from an image you upload, so you never have to guess.

They also have tools to check color contrast, what your palette might look like to someone with a type of color blindness, and additional color palette variations.

The other part of Coolors I use most often when I am creating a color palette is their visualizer tool. It instantly plugs your colors into example images to show you how the colors look together in practice. This gives me an idea of whether I actually like how my colors come together before I make a full commitment to my brand guide.

I know I have yet to explore all of Coolors’ capabilities, but I have been impressed with how much time I have saved (and how much time I have lost track of) using their tools.
